DriveSmart Academy was founded by experienced driving instructors who saw a gap in the market — too many schools rushing students through the process, cutting corners on real-world skill building.
We started with one car and a commitment to doing things differently: smaller class sizes, more behind-the-wheel time, and instructors who genuinely care about each student's progress.
Today we serve hundreds of students across Columbus and the surrounding communities, from first-time teen drivers to adults who never had the chance to learn. Our mission hasn't changed — we're here to build confident, safe drivers for life.

Ohio BMV Approved
All programs meet or exceed Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles requirements for driver education.
Certified Instructors
Every instructor holds a valid Ohio Certified Driving Instructor (CDI) license, renewed annually.
